Overview

The marketplace lets players create buy and sell orders for supported items. Buying can be done remotely, while selling items requires a marketplace location.

Use /marketplace to browse, create, and fulfill orders. Use /myorders to manage your own active orders and pending pickups.

Marketplace Locations

Marketplace locations have in-game labels. Stand near the label when you need to sell items, deposit items into an order, or claim pickups.

If you are at the wrong place, the server can offer to set a checkpoint to the required marketplace.

Buying is remote. Selling and claiming pickups are location-bound.

Order Types

Order TypeWhat It DoesWhat Happens Up Front
Buy orderYou request an item from another playerThe full order cost is reserved from your hand or bank
Sell orderYou list your item for another player to buyThe listed items are removed from your inventory or special balance

Orders do not automatically match. Another player must manually fulfill the order.

After you create or fulfill a buy or sell order, the marketplace returns to the main category menu.

When you create a buy order away from a marketplace, you choose which marketplace will store the item. Sellers must go there to fill the order, and you must go there to claim the item.

Successful marketplace actions show a generic nearby roleplay action. Nearby players can see when someone places, fulfills, cancels, or claims marketplace goods, but item names, quantities, and prices are not shown.

Limits and Fees

RuleValue
Minimum quantity1
Minimum price per item$1
Maximum total order valueQuantity x price per item is capped at $2,000,000,000
Seller tax5 percent by default
Self-tradingNot allowed

The marketplace checks quantity x price per item. You can enter quantity or price first, but once one value is set, the other value is capped so the total order value stays at or below $2,000,000,000.

Examples:

Value Entered FirstResulting Limit
Quantity 100Highest price per item is $20,000,000
Price per item $20,000,000Highest quantity is 100

If you want a higher price per item, reduce the quantity. If you want more quantity, lower the price per item. Sellers can place multiple sell orders if needed.

Sell orders may also have item-specific minimum or maximum prices. Buy orders reserve the full listed price until the order is filled or cancelled.
Buy order confirmation shows the selected pickup marketplace before the order is created.

Fulfillment Flow

If Another Player Fulfills...Result
Your sell orderThey pay remotely; the purchased item becomes their pending pickup
Your buy orderThey receive the money after seller tax; your purchased items become pending pickups

Marketplace notifications are sent when your order is filled while you are online. Offline fills are still stored and shown in /myorders.

If your inventory is full when claiming a pending pickup, the claim is cancelled. Free inventory space and try again.
